Suspense, Romance, and More by Pat McCain

From a small town to another small town--and in between.

Growing up in a small Colorado town with a family of journalists didn't inspire me to write, nor did living in the cities of Denver and Portland, Oregon. That inspiration came from a two-week visit to the British Isles, with a short few days in Scotland. All I knew was that my father had had a fair amount of Scottish ancestry. I came home from that journey full of impressions and thoughts that weren't to be ignored. Thus was born New Beginnings. This story and I have had a long journey together. I finished what I thought was my final draft in 1994 and started submitting it. So many lessons along that road. Finally in 2006 New Beginnings was published, only to have the publisher close her doors due to health issues. A touch of Scottish stubborness said that we weren't done yet. Fortunately, Barbara Custer, a fellow writer, was starting her own company and gave New Beginnings a new home at Night To Dawn. Now, in another small Colorado town, a sequel to New Beginnings is in the works.

My family and friends have all been very supportive of my writing, with my three grown sons possibly my biggest fans. I was pleasantly surprised when they all promoted my romantic suspense and paranormal books to anyone who would listen.

I'm now owned by three cats, who have their own page here.
